Welcome to the 64th UN DPI/NGO Conference blog!

After three packed days of high level speakers, cultural events and workshops, the 64th UN DPI/NGO Conference has come to a close. Over 1,500 people from 70 countries shared unique perspectives on the links between sustainability and volunteerism and built stronger networks and partnerships to tackle the challenges ahead.
In particular the lively debates produced a Conference Declaration, incorporating 1000 individual contributions, to be used as one of the first NGO inputs to the 20-year review meeting of the UN Conference on the Environment and Development (Rio+20) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in June 2012.

This site contains news items written by student journalists from around the world, as well as blog contributions from participants, covering a significant number of the workshops and round tables from the conference. Contributions will continue to be welcomed in the following weeks, so feel free to send us your reports, reflections and calls to action!
